Nanny PA, 2 children, Wandsworth SW18 (SP22)

Location: London

Type: Permanent

Salary: £1837 per month gross (annualised salary)

Ref: SP22

Notable Nannies are delighted to be working with a family in Wandsworth (SW18) to help them find a Nanny/PA to join their family.

The family are looking for a happy, nurturing and energetic nanny who has excellent experience in providing care for two girls, aged 8 and 5 years, on a part time after school basis and full time during school holidays for 4 days a week, with flexibility for occasional Friday working if possible. The nanny will be responsible for attending to all of girl’s daily needs, keeping them safe, happy, occupied and being responsible for their wellbeing, emotionally and socially.

The term time hours required are 1.00pm until 7.00pm Monday through to Thursday (24 hours) and during school holidays 9am until 7pm Monday through to Thursday (40 hours). This is a long term position, starting as soon as possible. The salary has been annualised to enable stability and security for the nanny to earn the same amount each month whether they work part time in term time or full time in school holidays. The monthly salary on offer is around £1837 gross per month, based on an annualised salary.

Currently both parents are working from home and the children are home schooling, once restrictions are lifted, both parents will travel to their respective places of work and the girls will be back to school. Once COVID restrictions are lifted and workplaces start returning to some form of normality, there may be the need for proxy parenting two or three times a year to cover for parent's work travel schedules.

Typically, the nanny will take care of all the needs of girls when they are not at school, planning a variety of age appropriate fun and activities to encourage learning and development in addition to activities which will develop their active and creative interests. The girls are doing their school work via Zoom Classroom.

Once schools reopen, the nanny will be required to collect the girls from school each day, assist with and encourage any reading or learning whilst ensuring good play and interaction when they are not at school.

The job will also include children’s duties where time allows (this entails keeping the children's play areas, toys, and bedrooms tidy and organised, changing beds, doing the laundry and ironing for the children), preparing meals for the children etc. Flexibility is important as you would be required to assist with some other PA type duties such as organising play dates, ensuring the children have everything they need, running errands, shopping, meals for the family and some other household duties whilst the children are doing school work, essentially ensuring the smooth running of the household.

The family are looking for someone who is self-motivated, energetic and active, with a firm but fair manner, someone who is able to support and encourage the girl’s individual interests and high academic abilities. The family are looking for someone who can offer reliability, consistency and a long term commitment to fit within their busy family dynamics.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has excellent experience with school age children, with the ability to support with transitions whilst being mindful of the appropriate stages of child development
  • is able to support and encourage confidence, teaching life skills and independence whilst being an excellent role model
  • is passionate about childcare, supporting with the children’s learning and development
  • is forward thinking in relation to the planning of age appropriate games, activities, outings, meals for the week ahead
  • who understands the pressures of a busy family life and is happy to be part of the family dynamics
  • is organised, able to plan ahead and use common sense as routine is important within this busy family
This is a bilingual family, with the children able to speak Italian and English, a nanny who is able to support the continuation of this would be most appreciated, however this is not an essential requirement.

There are currently no pets in the household, however this may change in the future. There are no known allergies or additional needs that the nanny will need to monitor or be aware of.

A driver is essential, more so for when the schools reopen. There is an automatic vehicle available for the nanny to use for work related journeys.

Excellent communication skills are essential as is the need for flexibility, reliability, mutual respect and transparency.

The family have had good experiences with nannies before, they also have a cleaner once a week.
