Nanny, 1 child 3.5, Hammersmith W14 (SP21)
We are delighted to be working with a family in Hammersmith (W14) who are looking for a happy and energetic nanny who can provide care for their little boy aged 3.5 years, on a part time after nursery/school basis and full time during school holidays for 5 days a week plus one evening of babysitting per week. The nanny will be responsible for attending to all of the child's daily needs, keeping him safe, happy, occupied and being responsible for his wellbeing, emotionally and socially.
The term time hours required are 3.00pm until 6.00pm Monday through to Friday (15-20 hours) and during school holidays the hours will increase to 8.30am-5.30pm. The family are looking for someone to start with them at the beginning of December 2020.
Typically, the nanny will take care of all the needs of child when he is not at nursery school, planning a variety of age appropriate fun and activities to encourage learning and development in addition to activities which will encourage social interaction with others. The nanny will be required to collect the child from nursery school each day, assist with any reading or learning whilst ensuring good play and interaction when he is not at school.
The job will also include nursery duties where time allows (this entails keeping the children's play areas, toys, and bedrooms tidy and organised, and doing the laundry and ironing for the children where time permits), preparing meals for the children etc.
The family would like someone who is self-motivated, energetic and active, with a firm but fair manner, someone who is able to support and encourage the individual interests and high academic abilities of the child. The family are looking for someone who can offer reliability, consistency and a long term commitment to fit within the family dynamics.
The ideal nanny would be someone who:
- has excellent experience with preschool age children, with the ability to support with transitional stages such as moving from nursery to school whilst being mindful of the appropriate stages of child development
- is able to support and encourage confidence, teaching life skills and independence whilst being an excellent role model
- is passionate about childcare, supporting with the children’s learning and development
- is forward thinking in relation to the planning of age appropriate games, activities, outings, meals for the week ahead
- who understands the pressures of a busy family life and is happy to be part of the family dynamics
There are no pets in the household. There are some food allergies that the nanny will need to monitor and be aware of. A driver would be preferred, however this is not an essential requirement as the nursery school is within a walking distance of around 20 minutes.
Excellent communication skills are essential as is the need for flexibility, mutual respect and transparency.
As there are 34 weeks where part time working is required and 18 weeks where full time cover is required, the family are offering a salary package which is averaged out across a whole year and paid in equal amounts on a monthly basis. The annual salary would be in the region of £22,350, which would be the equivalent of £1862 gross per month. (This equates to around £11-12 per hour nett)
